In Toronto, Mona takes the stage at an open mic night, sharing the story of her 25th birthday where Micah, an actor and her crush, unexpectedly appears, adding romantic tension to the evening. 

Mona's friends Laila and Evan, decide to create tales about Mona's fake comedic career to impress Micah, knowing that Mona dreams of having the guts to pursue comedy. Mona reluctantly plays along, facing her insecurities and desires. 

As the night progresses, and the absurdity, Mona realizes Micah may not bring the fulfillment she craves and kicks him out. Despite her fears, she signs up for her first-ever open mic night, realizing that her romantic pursuits are only a distraction from the real growth that she seeks. 

PRODUCTION NOTE

This being my first time as a DP on a scripted pilot, I felt so assured and confident because of this crew. From my Gaffer as Alejandro, Gilad as my Cam Op, Daija as my 1st AC, down to Brandon as my 2nd. Everyone came prepared for the days ahead, were quick to respond to my needs, and consistently offered great solutions to the problems we encountered. I would be nothing without my all star cine department!
